my girlfriend has a 2002 auto 2.2, with around 35,000miles. It resently seems to be burning alot of fuel, the check engine light came on today and stays on, all the fluids and filters are good. The motor seems to have lost 30%power and sounds off.

Im thinking O2 sensor, im gona check the plugs wires and distrubuter tomorrow.

First thing to do is get the code checked and find out what it is. That will give you a starting point.

save your money and buy a code reader online you can buy the scanner for the price a dealership will charge you for 5min

Agreed. I bought one at Canadian Tire a few weeks ago. Now whenever my light comes on for EVAP code I can just clear it.
