I'm replacing the water pump on a 2.8 V6.
Okay, I've got the thing loose. Now how the ^%$# do I get it out?! It won't come out from down in there any whichway. The housing it plugs into blocks it from going up and this dumb coolant pipe blocks it from coming forward or going toward the front of the car. How do you get it out without ripping out the air conditioning?
What you may have to do is this. You may need to unbolt the RIGHT side engine mount from the cradle(subframe) and raise the engine with a jack slightly in order to obtain enuff clearance to get around the coolant line u are talking about. This should assist u in ur issue at hand.Worst case if any of this makes no sense buy ur self a haynes or chiltons manual that shows pictures and a exact step by step.Should not be too hard to do if u know anything about fwd cars.I hope this helps u remove and fix ur pump.Ok
Thanks! I was actually thinking about jacking it this afternoon, but it was so cold and windy, I abandoned it for tomorrow. That'll be the first thing I do tomorrow, though; I already have a jack under the car.
