i have a 97 z24 5 speed and i need to change my rod bearings so is there a easy way to do it ? also i no there is balance shafts on the crank can i remove these or will this cause problems ? i know a friend of mine took his out of his dodge spirt didnt have any problems so please help out if you can thanks ps i mean take them out and leave them out
There is no easy way to do this, it involves completely dissassembling the engine, checking the crank for damage, and reassembling. Might be worth your while to find a new engine instead for the time and cost associated with a rebuild.
15.3 @ 89.97mph, 14's on the way?
Crank bearings can be rolled out, but the rod bearings are going to require a teardown of the engine. Balance shafts do just that, balance the reciprocating mass of the bottom end so I don't think removing them would be a good idea.
