tranny help

well i was driving last night and when i shifted to 4th gear it just popped out and did not want to go in gear. thankfully i was pretty close to where i was going and slowly pulled in the driveway. now it feels as tho everything is moved around. like it will go into first gear but its not where it should be. its very hard to explain. it won't go into 4th gear. doesnt really grind just doesnt go. its almost like the shifter is moved over to the right or something. i had 2 ppl tell me it could b the synchronizers(sp?). what do you guys think. when i searched tranny i saw somebody else had a synchro problem. there is a junk yard locally that has weekly sales and next week they have trannys for 65 bucks all i have to do is the work so i'll probly do it anyway. just wanted some opinions. if anybody lives in or around NEPA you should check out www.wegotused.com. sometime this month they are going to be selling any engine for like 75 dollars. pretty good deal. anyway...thanx

Probably the bushings on the shifter assembly.

may sound dumb but bleed the clutch line. i had air in mine and i had a problem w/ it not going into gear. could be what shifted said too about the bushings. when you take the center console out you can look at the cables too and see if they are attached good.

i dont think it would be the syncros cuz if it was i think it would go in gear, just not stay in gear but i could be wrong

yea its been awhile since i posted but just wanted to tell everybody that my tranny problem is fixed. it was my shifter cable but it wasnt loose. there is this bracket on it that like connects to the tranny or something i guess, i dunno but that bracket thing snapped in half and that is what was causing the problems. so after a while i got both pieces out and just have to replace that stupid thing. thanx for the help anyway guys!
