One of my fog lights went out. I go to autozone and their computers say that in 2000 and 2001 there is no Z24 or foglights listed for cavs period. I know they are wrong so I need the bulb number so I can buy a replacement? Also is there a upgrade bulb to make them brightere?
880? I believe. Don't make them brighter, cheap plastic housings melt easily.
im not sure if 2000+ are different but i know mine(a 96) takes 881 bulbs.

My 97 Z24 uses 880's. i've had the 885 bulbs in it for almost two years, which are 50w. Haven't had a problem with the housings melting. Today at work I liberated a set of the Silverstar 893's that were bound for the trash can... These are 37.5w, but I'll take the loss in wattage to have them match my headlights. I don't forsee any wiring or housing issues with these either. I've also frequently recommended the 885's to customers in their various GM foglights without a complaint as to anything melting.
The 881/886/894 bulbs are the same bulb and connector as the 880/885/893, but have the right angle bend in them. I imagine you'd be able to pop those in as well, provided there's enough slack in the harness, but I haven't tried myself so don't take my word for it. DBZ apparently has the 881's in his with no complications
880 (straight) and 881 (90* angle) = 27w Normal
893 (straight) and 894 = 37.5w Bright
885 (straight) and 886 = 50w Holy !@$!
Excuse the double post. I was on the phone with work making them look it up for me and posted assuming I could edit. I'm probably dumb (read: drunk) and just can't see the button.
Under "Bulb - Fog Light" in our Witt-Jr, we don't have a listing for 2000, but 99 and 01 both show the 880. So take your choice of the 880, 885, or 893. To my recollection, I haven't seen a 95+ fog light in a GM car that wasn't an 880.
it'll be the same as '01 for sure.
fyi, i've been using 37.5W without a problem.
