I had a shop put in a used '98 2.4l in my '96 sunfire. When i got the engine they said they were compatible. which is true to a point. the car runs, no check engine light. the mechanic notice that 2 connectors were loose and couldn't find where they went. When i went under there(yes, i had to show them where @!#$ went!) the '98 doesn't have the oil level sensor in the oil pan. where to hook up the connector now? also there is a connector (red) that is hangin from the front wire harness near the starter area. Any ideas where that goes? Thanks for any help you guys can offer.
Then why is my oil light always on? Is there a different wire that is used. I didn't change computers and read some where there is a difference in computers.
Yup, the 96 computer is looking for a signal. What you could do is put the 96 pan on the 98, then you would be able to use the 96 sensor, otherwise you'll have to find out what you need to do to jump out that sensor and make the oil light go away.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
the red connector should be for an Evap solenoid.....
Where is the Evap solenoid? I will be under the car when the new clutch gets put in this saturday, so maybe i can make sure it gets connected. thanks for the replies.
