I am looking at buying an OBD-II scanner. I see on e-bay a bunch that are fairly cheap (less than $50 Cdn). I am wondering if there is anything in particular that I need to look at in terms of features? Has anyone had experiece with scanners and could recommend a make and model?
In Canada, we don't have Autozone, etc. to scan for free, thus to scan a code it usually cost a minimum $30!! I figured this will be less expensive in the long run.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hey,
Well I am going to buy an OTC model 3407. It will cost $279 plus tax ( thru Carquest.... ) but it will be worth it. The main feature I am looking for is its CAN compliant and flash upgradeable. There are cheaper ones out there, but they are not CAN compliant, so if you buy a newer vehicle later on, you will have to get another scanner. Also, the $399 Innova that Cdn tire sells, has the same options as the OTC but for $120 more. A rip off Bigtime!!
I will post a review as son as I get it!!
I hope this helps!!
Take care,
Will

OTC makes good tools. I have an Actron scanner that has served me well. Good luck.
