Fuel filters are less than $10. If the fuel pump, or fuel system, is in question, put a fuel pressure gauge on the rail, it is a valuable diagnostic tool. Good luck.

WAIT ONE MOMENT. Dave stop giving false info.

Your fuel pump is supposed to hum right before you start the car, if not your gonna start the engine without fuel. which doesnt work.

YOUR CAR IS FINE. ITS NORMAL.

and besides, you a fuel pressure monitor, you cant have a cheap shraider valve one, they are only temporary.

I dont believe Dave gave any false info. If anything he was correct. If the fuel system is in question use a fuel pressure gauge, see readings, KOEO/KOER, residual fuel pressure. Lots of test you can do using the simple gauge.

Yes but if there was a problem and you had that available then go for it. But if you cant diagnose a normal issue, then how can you even diagnose a problem if you dont understand how your fuel system works in the first place.

It does NOT mean the pump is fine. It simply means the pump is #1 being turned on, and #2 you have power and ground for the fuel pump. It may be turning on, but it may not be pumping enough fuel.

Do you not read his first post, he is just wondering what that noise is. ITS NORMAL. If the fuel pump was dead, the car WOULD NOT start.
