hey all,
i am having an issue. here are all the symptoms.
as soon as i start the car, i hear a fast click-click-click-click sound from the fuse box. it seems to be coming from the large relay box on the right. i can feel the clicking when it happens.
as it clicks, my drl indicator light flashes in unison. ultimately, it stays off and the SERVICE indicator light illuminates.
once, i started the car and it didn't happen. turns out that was the one time i had the e-brake on. as soon as i released the hand brake, it did the same thing.
so this obviously ties in to the drl's. oh, i also noticed that i only have one headlight working.
what is the first thing i should do?
thanks for any input!

that's probably it. you have a bulb out. change your headlight bulbs and see if it still happens.

mine does it, and no lights out?
yeah mine does it too unless you have the e-brake up or lights on and it wont do it.
I am assuming this is for either the '00 or '02 in your profile.
First
Switch the bulbs. Put the left one in the right side and right on the left and see if the problem moves. This will rule out the bulbs.
Then, assuming the bulbs are good:
Is it the right or left bulb that is out?
If it is the left. It may be the DRL relay.
If it is the right, I would suspect it is the the wiring to the light, more specifically the orange wire that supplies the power to the light.
Judging by the info you have given, I think the multifunction switch can be ruled out. If it was the issue, you would notice the same problem on both lights.
Post up your results so that we can be of more assistance.

Ebrake up or headlights on both ensure that the DRL's aren't on, that's the filament that's burnt out. On sunfire's, the DRL's and the highbeams are on the same filament, so throw on the high beams and see if one's burnt out, my guess is one will be.

My wifes car just started doing the same thing for the second time. The Bulb is always good both filaments work fine in another car. Passenger DRL and low beam are out high beams work. Driver side lights all work. No voltage on passenger side when low or DRL should be on. I was told that was because low beams and drl run through the body control module and it might be bad. They by-passed it and it worked for a year now I need to get this fixed as well. I'm thinking about taking it to the dealer and letting them mess with it.
I had the same problem, with the click click click but not with the ebrake on so I looked at both of my lights and they were both on but with closer inspection, 1 was considerably more dull. If you doubt it, just get like a $5 set of bulbs (9007) at wal mart. If the bulbs arent the problem, return them stating they're the wrong size. Easy and cheap. -2000 Z24-
STREET ANTIX, it's coming...
I had the same problem....
Strangely, when i reseated the rear window defroster's fuse....it worked fine after that....
