the ets light comes on at random times, it will come on and the tranny will feel like its going out and the tranny will shift vary hard. The check engine light will come sometime with the ets light but not very often. but the problem will go away for a month at a time, I needed help bad please
That exact thing happened to me. ( '99 GT ) I thought the Trans. was going to fall out ! I had about 90,000 miles on it. A good tech close by, diagnosed it as a Throttle Position Sensor. Replaced in about an hour. Part not too expensive. Maybe $50.00. It has never done this again. Smooth shifting, and no light. Could be a D.I.Y. with a repair manual. Worth a try, worked for me. also check your vaccum lines near the TB. I know once in a while i'll pop one of the vaccum lines off when it don't start on the first crank.
that 'causes hard shifting (feels like the tranny is about to jump out) and the ETS/Check engine light.
