So coming up this summer is my five year anniversary w/ my lovely cavy.

What kinda maintenance should i do?

all of them should be fine except tranny fluid which prolly isnt that bad. but never hurts to do any of it along with plugs fuel air filter ect..
Thought we had 100,000 mile plugs?
we have 100k coolant too but i wouldnt go that long.. although im a maintence freak i got one z24 with 120k miles and one with 176k
Then why would you recommend he spend money on plugs at 37k?
why wouldnt i plugs are wut a whole 20.00 he'll probably save that on gas.. you spend a little now or alot later anyone with a reliable high mileage car would know this it never hurts to spend a few bucks to keep it in good condition unless u dont give a @!#$
my new supercharger plugs are doing just fine thank you

I just don't see a point in spending an unnecessary 20 dollars. And before you say I don't take care of my cars I have one with 140k and a civic with over 200k. I'd just check everything over and top off your fluids. I don't think spending a lot of money is necessary if you have taken care of it up until now.
Owner's manual recomendation for 36K service and brake fluid flush should do fine. Dump a can of Sea-Foam in the gas tank, to. You ain't anywhere near when most general parts fail, engine-wise.

congrats prolly not uncommon to see an import with 200k miles on the other had i have 2 Z24's one with 123k and another with 177k both of which have had anything wrong besides waterpump which is normal on these engines.
i'd say coolent and tranny fluid... im planning to change my coolent and tranny fluid this summer, along with my plugs, etc... but thats cuz im at 84,000 miles...

I'm in the same situation it'll 5 years from June 2001 (build date) that my car has been on the road so i'm changing the coolant due to the fact that it only lasts 5 years/ 250000km.
To me powersteering and brake fluid don't really need to be changed because the system is sealed and there is no contamination.
The transmission fluid (auto) doesn't require changing if the car is not driven in heavy conditions, hills, dusty conditions. It says it in the manual if the GM engineers said it then might as well follow it. Ive had GM's in the past and haven't changed the tranny fluid and ive had no problems. GM tranny's are the best.
