Ok, heres the story. I've done several drum brakes in the past, mostly on Lesabres and bonnevilles, so I thought no swear, i'll change my Cavs' wheel cylinders and brakes.
I figured out the wheel cylinder has torx screws and got them out. Even got the old wheel cylinder out after a lot of trouble.
Is their a method to getting the wheel cylinder out and the new one back in for cavaliers.????
there Just isnt enough room to get the new wheel cylinder back in. I've checked the parts number and everything and its the right part. I think it would be the hub...that that actual wheel goes on. No matter what i do, its i the way. Am i supposed to unbolt it to get the cylinder back in??
What am i missing/ doing wrong?
Thanks guys
Sorry man got me.
Anyone ? Dude needs help !
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
I dunno man, I've never heard of that before. If worse comes to worse it shouldn't be that hard to loosen up the hub a little bit so you can remove it. I'd just pry the heck outta it until it comes out
You can't outrun the radio.
As far as i remember you need to losed the hub torx (T55) bolts. This will give you some room. I dont think you need to take em out completely. I dont fully remember. Sorry wish i could be more help
The rean wheel hub is held in by 4 bolts, Its extremely easy to remove and install, no mess or fuss.
As for the wheel cylinder, push the two pistons in together, hold and push through the back. If not, remove the hub and make a simple job even easier. Hub removed also makes doing the rear brakes so much easier.
Loosen the hub to get the wheel cylinder in.
If your carefull you can tap it in with a hammer without loosening your hub.
