2.4 problem
Monday, March 06, 2006 4:25 PM
My 97 Sunfire wont start, everything was fine, filled up the tank and went home, next day it started up then after I came back out of the house it was off. It will not start at all but it will seem to try for a second then nothing but cranking. Thought it froze, was cold when the problem began but it was 42 degrees yesterday. Any ideas? I did put in gas antifreeze after the fact.

this should be in third gen with your other thread entitled 2.4 problem, double posting is the devil.

I would have to agree with maybe the fuel pump.

You have to determine if it's fuel or an ignition problem. Spray some starting fluid in the throttle body, if it starts, your problem is fuel related, if not, it may be ignition. Then, check for spark. Good luck.
