And obviously use high temp engine paint for longevity. If you want it to look real smooth, then lay a coat of primer and sand it smooth before painting it. Good luck.

Go to walmart and buy the paint remover it's cheaper there. Also use some protective gloves with the paint remover and make sure when u paint it that u use engine enamel paint or rather high temp paint and the same goes for the primer(high temp). All these products can be found in the automotive area and u will save money buy going to walmart and getting it there.Use some sand paper to roughen up the surface and wet sand it so the primer will stick good so when u paint it in several coats over time u will have a good quality finish that will last, and let it cure or dry for several hours.OK

Don't go to walmart and buy cheaper paint remover unless it's made for Aluminum. Normal paint remover will eat into the Aluminum. Some Dimethyl adipates are higher in content and will blacken the aluminum aswell as put pits in there and leave acid in the pits even after washing when you go to paint the paint will be blotting and come off Use the right stuff and I'd even wash the part with baking soda to neutralize any unseen acid leftovers followed by sanding cleaning again, high temp primer, high temp paint good luck.
