Okay, lemme start by saying that my whole suspension setup is stock in my 04 Cavalier. I am having this noise come from the front drivers side. It is like a clicking/squeaking noise. This only happens when I am turning my wheel sharply or if I hit a bump or crack or something (usually with speeds under 40mph).
First, I took it to my local Chevy dealer and they said it was a brake line rubbing on the intake somethin (before I had my K&N Intake). They supposedly readjusted it, but as soon as I drove off the lot, it started again.
Next, I took it to my local GMC dealer/parts/repair shop. They said it was a bad strut. So they put it a brand new one and a few hours later, while driving, the noise starts again. I dunno what to do. It has to do something with the suspension I would think because of the noise happens when I hit a bump.
I thought it was originally a bad shock but both the dealers said it wasnt. The second dealer said they would realign everything. But since there is still a problem it is probably not too good to drive it. There is another Chevy dealer about a half hour away. Should I take it there and get a third opinion? It is still under warranty, so everything is free, but it is just so annoying. I really hope someone can give me some suggestions, because it is driving me crazy. I don't really need the car because I still dont have my liscence so time isnt really a factor. Give me some suggestions and ask if you want more info or anything. Thanks
Check the brakes, see how much pad you have left.
Another possibility is the CV joint but I would think the car is too new for that sort of problem.
Keep taking it back, or try another dealer. Have them get into the car with you and drive around so they feel/hear the problem.

listening....
yep, I have the same prob....but it only comes after driving a for while....when going low speeds like 15-25mph ( as stated above ) it's not the brakes, they are almost new.....it could be suspension, but the weird thing is that only comes after the car is driven for a while......but I dont mind much...I'll be getting some AGX's and a Pro-Kit...soon

My car does it all the time; not just when it is hot or cold or after being driven a while. I was thinkin about gettin some new lowering springs and struts and a strut bar. But since I eventually want to be bagged, I would rather not waste the money. Also, I dont even know if that would fix the problem, so except for the look it would be a waste of half a thousand dollars. I read this forum;
LINK; and this guy said he had a brake line rubbing the master cylinder, and it sounded a lot like my problem. But I dunno. I will probably try a different dealer and see what they say for a third opinion. I will have them check all the brake lines too. Anyway, keep the help coming and thanks to all who replied.
Sounds like what happened to me. Driving straight slowly and then jerk the wheel and it would pop. or if I hit a bump while driving slowly it would pop. The dealer replaced the front stabilizer bushings and the noise stopped.
my problem is that when it pops, my brake pads lock up , the headlights would dim or flicker, and all my interior lighting including the dash lights dimmed also, it sounds more of a springy sound but i can't make it out. All this happens in 2 seconds and everyhting went back to normal.
