Help! suspension problem...
Wednesday, March 01, 2006 6:21 PM
I had the prokit on stock shocks and struts.. Now with konis and springs I seem to be over-steering and hear a grinding noise when taking curbs. Any idea? I'm having a mechanic checking it out soon. Thanks

It'e because your not supposed to take curbs, you avoid those

Grinding can be one of many things to check in order:
1.) Did you put the spring isolators on the new struts when you changed them out?

2.) Is the fender liner hitting the tire when your turning? The tire and rim combo your running should be fine, but you'll never know without looking.

3.) Check the CV joints if their busted that could be the problem, but you usually hear a clicking in them.

The oversteer is a driver issue. If your running on the stock swaybar or bars your car should be understeering. Go to a few autocrosses and you'll quickly learn.

that's all I can think off off the top of my head. The konis shouldn't have changed anything except improving the ride. This could be a worn out part, but is most likely an installation error if it occured immediately after the install.
