I was curious on my 03 cavalier of when you replace the back breaks?
because when i go to slow down it sounds like something is rubbing.

Mark, those rear brakes should not need service
under normal driving conditions until 40-50,000
miles.....
Try some WD-40 on the parking brake cable underneath
the car...work the lever...maybe it's a cable that's
a little corroded...
hell, i've got 58K on my car and haven't touched the rear brakes yet...
GO PATS!!!
you will have to replace you front brakes 2 times if not more before you ever have to worry about the rear brakes.

I have one true love in my life...And my girlfriend sits next to me in it
do a simple look see.
Take off the rear tire, and pull on the drum, it should come right off.
Do you see the rivets on the shoes (pads)?
Are there 5 springs?
Is it all wet and gooey?
With the '03 models (like mine) they went to a wishbone type of return spring instead of the tried & true older return springs. If the wishbone gets hot it will not return the shoes to the proper position and they may drag. My '03 had that problem on the right rear, and the shoes were shot on that side. I replaced the shoes & the wishbone and it's fine now.
Don
hm..thanks thats what that noise could be
