hey, my DRL are showing to be the yellow lights...is this correct or are they spose to be low/high beams and my wiring is messed up?

do you mean the little yellow light on the gauge cluster. if so, then yes thats supposed to be on during the day. at night when you turn on the low beams it will go away. when you turn on the high beams, the blue light turns on.
No, i mean that my yellow(parking lights?) are the ones that are on in the front of the car. I thought DRL were supposed to be low or high beams that are actually on...just low intensity

Its a 96 Cavalier - sedan
The J-Bodies use the high-beam lamps for their DRLs. They a used at reduced voltage, which causes a shift in the temprature in degrees Kelvin(color of the light). Daylight is about 5600 degrees Kelvin (white w/ a slight blue tint), while the stock lamps burn at about 4800 deg Kelvin (almost amber in color). When the lamps are run at a lower voltage, the temprature is reduced also, hence the yellow-amber color.
You will see the difference on film type photos when taking pictures under standard incandesant light and daylight or flash conditions. Be aware though that pictures from print typ films can be corrected some during the printing process. Digital cameras, video and the human eye will usually correct the color balance up to a point.

Reason I ask: If the previous owner did the DRL wirning modification to make it so the parking lamps come on instead of the High beams, then it is normal and you have no worries.
