Alright, my question to the maintenence forum...
About a week after I installed my header, I got a p0133 code for slow 02 sensor response. bank 1 sensor 1.
basically the sensor in the header. okay no big deal the car barely has 45k miles on it,
I decided to clear the code a few days later just to see if it would come back, and of course, one week later it comes back. only this time I didn't have time to pass... so a week passes... this brings us to today...
and the light went off today.
What the hell, why won't it make up its mind?
Should I be worried about this? or just be glad that the CEL is gone now?
wtf. I must have been tired when I typed this
correction
I didn't have time to fix it.... so a week passes.... etc etc.
I've read here that the Bosch o2 sensor doesn't play nice in J bodies, you didn't use one of those, did ya?
The cel will go off on it's own with an active code, I don't know why but it does. Mine comes on about twice a week, then goes off after about an hour of driving. Same code, misc misfire in cyl X, and no one knows why. $1500 later, and it's still a mystery. But enough of my crappy car...
You might want to think about heat wrap for your header. The o2 sensor needs to be hot enough to work right, and headers are thinner than cast manifolds which allows more heat out. Cast manifolds also flow slower, which traps more heat from the exhaust being in there for a longer time.

no. it's still the stock sensor. I'm not gonna wrap my header either, I paid good money for that.. I don't wanna have to pay it again when the thing rots out and I don't want to void any warranty.
Anyone else have any idea?
