Knocking or loud valve tap

1996 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 Auto 130,000 miles

Ok my oil light was on so i was driving to walmart since they were the only place open at 10:15 to get oil and it was running fine, no noise at all. I took a hard turn into walmart because some stupid ass neon was flying up behind me in the water and i didnt want him to hit me...which he did end up sliding. As i was driving through the parking lot i heard a loud tap or knocking noise, the higher the rpm the faster the noise (duh). Could be the valves, could be something in the bottom end...either way ...fixable? And will it even be worth fixing.

do you hear anything at idle?
what was the oil level before walmart?

you went to walmart to get oil since you knew it was low...... you'd have to find out if it was low enough to do damage........ were u a little low? or low that the check engine light came on.........
give some more info

how did it run after oil?

usually once the damage is done you're euchre'd

sounds like a rod bearing my friend. Low oil + hard turn + knocking = spun rod bearing. Sorry to break it to you but you probably want to start looking for a new engine...
