Alright, just did the front brakes, complete change with Monroe premium rotors & brake pads. Now the two bolts on each calipers won't go 100% in, they will stick out less than an 1/8", all four being equal. Before they were completely in. I torque them like crazy, and unscrewed them completely twice to see if they weren't crossthreaded or if there wasn't something wrong, but everything seems fine, and they work fine.
Is it normal, before I kill myself?
did u compress the piston again?
use a C clamp and compress it more
I lubed them, and its as if they'd hit something, like they were fully screwed.
I did test them rapidly in the underground parking as there'S a huge snowstorm here right now, and everything seemed fine. Pedal is firm also, and they don,t grab at all.
Could it be normal? I guess if Shifted experienced the same thing and haven't had any problems yet... I'll sleep alright tonight
I really don't see what could stop them inside the calipers...
mine stick out after i do a brake job too.

It's completely normal...our cars have a "floating caliper"...this means that the caliper can slide on the bolts when the piston squeezes on the rotor. if it didn't...the pad on the piston side would take all the punishment and the outer one would barely be touched. put it all together and take it for a ride...chances are it'll look like the bolts are all the way in...which they are.

same happened to me doing my gf's malibu. bothered me a bit but shes driven a couple months like that and no problem. so ill go along with the others that say its normal.

Ah, geez, didn't think of that! If I would've known that I would've lubed them like crazy, as my pads are not wearing evenly. THe outers ( non moving ) are wearing much faster than the inners, and they don't wear evenly. Heck, even the right side is wearing much slower than the left side.
