I've got a '94 Sunbird LE 2.0L 5-speed. I was out driving today and everything was fine. Then I stop at a red light, and when I start to move, I can get going in first, but then it does really slow, sort of jackrabbitty things, so I switched to second and it did the same thing. After third gear it's fine but the first two are causing problems. The check engine light came on too.

What do you think the problem is? Clutch slipping or right-out toasted by this point, or something else? And how much am I looking at for a new clutch?

Just an update... I'm not having the same problem anymore (Just let the car sit for a bit). Now the engine light comes on whenever I rev, then goes away after a bit, so I'm thinking there's a bad sensor somewhere. Any idea which to look for in that situation?
