ok get this i brought my car in for transmission fluid flush...5 mins later i find myself getting ride back to my house cause they need to do 5 hrs of recalls....3 in total...ignitions moduale or something Rack and Pinion and bcm i think...anyone had this happen?
My car is held hostage...
Well look at it this way, its all getting fixed FREE and you never even had any trouble to deal with. Sure it may be inconvenient but it'll be fixed today rather then you needing to miss more time from work / school.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
Those recalls ARE serious, you WANT them done! As 'lope said, free is good. Compare this little inconvenience with that of a potential accident or fire. Not looking so bad anymore, eh?
Yea, your better off getting them done. I am getting the shaft from the dealership cause I didnt know about the recalls and didnt get them done. Appearantly, if you buy a used car, you have to register your information with GM... I wish someone told me that! ARGH!
well i got all three done today..for free which was cool..what wasnt was the estimate for new water pump.... $1512.27...so its safe to say id made this car safer for a new owner...cause no way i can afford that

....
if anyone wants to be a REAL nice JBOer and help a college kid out...itd be priceless...
willing to give beer, pizza, and some moeny for your services...
lol thats way too much i got one of the guys from the dealership to do my water pump and timing chain in 2.4L for 200.00 and he even bought the parts. Just talk to some people in your area or other shops. dont sacrafice price for service but you could def. find it cheaper then that nd still have it done right
yes especialyl that igniton recall. the car i bought, when the previous owner was takin a guyfor a test drive, the wiring harness caught on fire, then he found out bout the reacall, GM replced the harnees free
Is the pump actually leaking or is it just weaping a bit? From what I understand many dealers will mis diagnose the weepage as a failed pump.

if its weeping its going to fail. thats a sign that the pump is on its way out

On a 2.2L engine? That dealership is really putting the screws to ya. I had mine replaced by a dealer ship, I have a 2.4L, and because of all the crap ya gotta do to a 2.4 to get the pump out, it was $800 with parts. Yours should be quite a bit cheaper than what I paid.

RIP Specks
I'll buy the car from you for $50, with the leaking water pump.

His profile says it's a 2.4, generally a quote for that job is around $800CAN, so I'd go to a few other dealers and see what their quotes are like as that's about 2X what it should be.
