'02 Cavalier no start

2002 Cavalier with 2.2 OHV, 4 speed auto, 64k miles. Drove it around today, everything was fine until I went to a friends house. The car was off for maybe 1 minute. When I tried to start it again, it would turn over just fine, but it wouldn't fire. I let it sit for 20 minutes or so, and it acted like it wanted to start for second, but still wouldn't fire. I had just changed the fuel filter 2 weeks earlier. Everything was working fine up until this point, so I'm left scratching my head. Any ideas? Fuel pump?

Thanks
Jim

Do you have spark? If so, use some starter fluid to see if you can get it to fire. If it does, you know it's fuel related, unless there is something obstructing air flow to the throttle body. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Well, it finally got figured out. I took it to the stealer to have it looked at and they found bad wiring from the fusebox to the fuel pump. They had to tear apart the insulation under the seats to get to it, cost me 450 bucks. Kinda pisses me off that something like this would happen, the car isn't that old...

That's a lot of money. Sorry for your luck but glad you got it fixed.
