When looking for a engine for my 1995 sunfire...Only engines I can use are 1994 and 1995 engines..What are the diffrences between the 1995,1996,1997.Also if I had a doner 96 car can the subframes be swapped over(engine and tranny) Also know the tranny is diffrent in the 1995 and 1996...Would I have to swap wiring harnesses and computer??Thank you for your time..Maybe just retire the old girl....lol 212K miles

Just a follow up.. 1996-‘97: The 1996 engine was equipped with sequential fuel injection, so it had a notched ring for the cam position sensor located behind the #3 journal.

The specifications stayed the same, so it can be used to replace the 10184912 that came in the 1994-‘95 engines, but the 10184912 can’t be used in the 1996 and ‘97 engines because it doesn’t have the notched ring for the cam position sensor


SO does this mean I can use a 96 or 97 engine with my 95 computer if I swap cam sensors???
