I have a slow antifreeze leak and i cant figure out where from... kinda looks like the fill/overflow container is leaking but im not sure.
How many miles on the car? From my experience if you're over 100K miles the leak is probably at the water pump. Usually (on the 2200 OHV anyway) the water pumps last 100K. It will start out slow and sooner or later you will have a big puddle on the passenger side of the car when the seal goes out.
God bless America.
Oh if you have the OHV engine the water pump is a straightforward and easy job. Should take less than 2 hours start to finish even if it's your first time doing it.
God bless America.
i have a 1997 2.2l and yes i just hit 100k. but i just recently changed the water pump and thermostat. I just took my girlfriend to work and came back and checked it out... theres antifreeze all over the fill tank even on the top and it seems like the cap isn't holding pressure is this a possibility?
yes.
Replace the cap.
if that don't fix the problem, then my next question would be overheating.
Does your car overheat?
anyone got a part number on this or a link to where i can get one???
An overflow cap?
its about 15.00 to 20.00 dollars I think?
autozone i believe a 15lb cap pretty univeral. i got mine at autozone i think for like 5.00?
easiest fix i would imagine if it still leaks maybe check your clamps onto the little hoses among the acutal hoses themselves. take care of the cap though first
NAPA has a good quality cap for 7-8 bucks. The key word is good quality. I had to replace mine recently on my 2002 as the o-rings on the original were swollen and the cap was very difficult to remove/reinstall.
God bless America.

soo cav, what's the verdict?
the cap fixed the leaking coolant? still spurting out of that cap or any signs of overheating?
maybe re-burp the system to make sure all air bubbles/pockets are outta the system?
then goto a uv dye & blacklight combo to find any hard-to-spot leaks...
