1998 Sunfire. 2.2 liter engine 4spd auto
Ok, here's the history.
Had the car about a year and then the DRLs died. Midas fixed it last October saying the wires by the battery were correded and that they retapped everything back up to help prevent it.
About the end of December the same problem came back but now it's different. Before when they were broke, the regular beams worked fine and when you would turn on the high beams only the passenger side would go high.
Now, when the you put it in gear you get the same clicking noise over and over as before but now when you turn the regular lights on they go to DRL light up level and when you turn on the high beams on, the driver side light goes to just normal level.
Any ideas?
were the headlights dimmer when the DRLs stopped working?

Not the first time back in October but now this time, at DRL they arent on, at low beams they are at DRL light status and at high beam only one light works but clearly not at high beam setting.
Could it be the DRL relay? I believe it's located on the upper rad support behind the bumper

Nah it can't be because the clicking noise is there. The clicking noise is the relay initializing.
Could this be the stalk switch on the colum? Mine went south some time ago. I no longer had any regular lights, only DRLs. High beems only stayed on when I held the stalk towards me. I know, in general, that others have had problems with theirs.
I'm not sure but I should also mention that the high beam light indicator, stays on 24/7. Regardless of switching on or off high beams.
No help here? I've also noticed that when you switch from "high beams" to "low beams" that the switch isn't almost instant like before, but a very gradual fade.
Have you tried troubleshooting the wiring yet?
Get yourself a wiring diagram and a multimeter and have at it.
