Ok, recently my cavy has been making this low rotating noise near the left side of my car, it is mostly noticeable at high speeds on the interstate and especially when i turn left. i think this may be because a few weeks ago when there was some snow, i went into my school parking lot and kinda went sideways on purpose but kept going and hit a curb, i was going real fast or anything, it just made my car stop suddenly. i dk if that accident is the cause of this sound, does this sound familiar to anyone?? -thanks
hub bearing, no doubt in my mind. gm parts direct has it for less than 100 bux shipped. impact gun and compressor is HIGHLY reccomended for installation.

To know for sure its the hub bearing, Jack up the wheel you think is making the noise. With the tire on, hold both sides of the tire and oull in all directions. If it moves, its the bearing.
Reason i suggest test it before you order parts, i had the same noise from the left rear side, and the noise was a return spring in the drum brake that failed and jammed into another part. I would make a low squeek noise 3 times per tire rotation.

Oh and if it happens to be a rear hub bearing, its very easy to replace. Just 3 or 4 bolts. Its in 1 peice to limit needed maintance.
ok, i will have to test it to see if it is the hub bearing. i dont have those tools, so do you think a pep boys could do the installation for me?? and is this serious or not too big of a deal, although even if it isnt a big deal its kinda annoying going on the highway now...
Thats one of those things that if it goes, Your car wont. I really would not recommend Pep Boys.
Last time i had to do a front one i did not use an impact gun and compressor. There are other ways. Find a good mechanic that you can trust, But test it to see if that is your actual problem, As i suggested above. Pep boys will charge you alot and still do the job wrong.
only prob is, that most j's or anything else with sealed bearings i've worked on, the front ones wont typically be loose, but they willmake one helluva racket, i changed the RF on my moms cav twice, never had any loosness, but yes if it's a rear one it will be loose.
if it's kinda like a growling noise, i can garuntte u its a right front wheel bearing (left turn u put more weight on left front wheel, causing more stress and makin more noise)
lastnight i replaced my right front wheel bearing cause it was seriously shot. afterwards while driving home i noticed it was humming really loud, what could that be?
I know its coming from the left side of the car. And it has to be the rear wheel, it only started happening after i slid into that curb with my rear left wheel. and it makes a louder sound when i turn left or right, its not really loud, it can be drained out by the stereo, lol. and it doesnt make the car vibrate or anything, but i would rather it not make that sound.
