Muffler Heat shield

My muffler heat shield popped loose and is vibrating bad. I was just wondering if it is safe to take it off or will that make the trunk area too hot? Thanks.

Best idea is to tack it back on either with one or two spot welds, or some stainless steele fasteners.

take it off. in fact, u can take off pretty much all of the heat shielding aroun the exhaust. will prevent future rattles, u can save weight (if that is your thing). i shaved all extraneous metal off of my undercarriage, three years ago. no problems as of yet.
