please help another odometer question
Saturday, January 28, 2006 3:57 PM
I have a 2001 Z24 coupe and the odometer is digital, when working the numbers are orange, but I have recently noticed that the odometer and the trip mileage work, however the numbers are very, very light. They are almost transperent, I have tried messing with the little knob and everything, I just dont know what the problem is. Can anybody help?

You need another cluster. The LED behind the numbers is out and per GM "is not serviceable". There are some people on here that have successfully replaced the LED.

On the 2k+ clusters, the mileage is stored in the BCM, not the cluster. So replace the cluster and the correct mileage will show up on the first time you start the car.

I bought I believe a 74 bulb, and soldered it in place of the old bulb, has been working ever since on my 99 SFGT, maybe give that a try
