I know where one is on the 1997 2.2... right in front, next to the sticker that says "Do not vent w/ engine running"... according to my Haynes/Chiltons, there is a second bleeder valve...
Unfortunately, the pic of where it is supposed to be does not match (on the upper water outlet housing). There is no bleeder...
Just got done with a water pump swap and I think there is air in the system, even after venting it in the known location, as a quick 1/4 mile trip down the road (to get things circulating) caused my temp gauge to redline.
Anyone know if there is just the one bleeder for the coolant sys or is there 2?
On the '96 2.2, it has 2. One on the tube in front of the spark plugs, and one around the corner on the right, near the engine block. The one out front is for burping the system of air when the engine is shut off. '97 or '98 brought about some changes in the engine bay, what with the different cam an' all. They may have done away with the one near the block.
