changed head gasket now car don't start

i just finished changing the head gasket in a 95 sunfire with a 2.2l manual. It wouldn't start,i found a fuel leak on the fuel line that goes in to the r.s of the intake(thes cars right) the o-ring was broken. So i replaced the o-ring,still wont start, i rechecked all the connections i took off. Found the two spark plug wires on the r.s coil pak weren't all the way on so i fixed them and still nothing. If i put the pedal to the floor it will start and run @ about 500-1000rpm with the pedal wide open but than dies after like 30 seconds. I'm almost positive i set the valves right ( i followed the oreder and torque spec from another post on this site 22lbs/ft). I myself have a 97 cavy with a 2.4l, on 2 seperate occasions it has done something similar one was when i somehow tripped the theft control and the 2nd was when i ran it out of gas. The ani-theft light is not on. The gauge says it has 1/8 tank(i haven't been able to get a hold of the owner yet to verify that it goes all the way down to e). After trying to start it a couple of times it smells like gas around the engine but no visable leaks. So i'm stumped any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like one of the ISM sensors was left disconnected.

i was sure i hooked everything back up, but i will recheck in the morning, the first time i tried to start it i didn't have the intake tube on,there fore the sensor in it wasn't hooked up. Doing that wouldn't cause the computer to disable the vehcile like it does with the anti-theft would it?
