yes i have been having problems wit my z24 for like 2 months now and i can not get it to run right... it keeps miss firing real bad.. but i already changed the coil packs... spark plugs... plug boots... and the ign module... and it still does it just as bad as it did before if some one on here knows ant thing please help me........
did you check to see if there was any codes in the ecu ? could be a number of things a bad 02 sensor for example check the codes and let me know ....
what year is your car ? you have to more than likely hook up a obd scanner autozone does it for free I guess.im new to gm vehicles but I have much experience in the toruble codes and what not since I did own a DODGE lol. Is the engine light on ? it could tell you exactly what cylinder is missing. My dodge was having a similiar problemand i think it wa sbecause of a crack i nthe exhaust manifold causing it to run lean therefor dumping in more fuel and causing it to miss and studder.
2000 Z24..... MY CHECK LIGHT HAS NEVER CAME ON AT ALL.. I TOOK MY CAR TO A GARAGE AND A CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND NEITHER ONE CAN FIND A THING WRONT WIT IT AT ALL
i checked all the eco for codes and it all was fine
Pull the plugs back out and see what they look like. Clean? Burned? Covered in soot?
just did that about 15 min ago they look good
Not sure if the picture will work. But you probably need to replace the white thing. The coil housing.
i have been told to do that but how will that fix it
Hey, it sounds like we may have the same problem.

Still haven't figured mine out, and I've cheanged everything that you have (plus a lot more). But I'ma check that coil housing out, too. My check engine light has been reset and still hasn't came back on and it's still doing it.

when u going to change that coil housing
I'm going to test it first with an ohm meter...
It was explained in my post
here.

I wish I could explain it better. but find the corresponding nipple and coil contact point and check resistance.
This is what my vin pulled

well when i took my coil cover off today on the one piece where it goes to cylender one it was all diss colored and had a brown tint to it so could this be my problem u guys
It's possible. Just check it with an ohm meter.
i did it did not do any thing at all it just read 0 for all the things
it just says like ...... 0.L
OL means out of limits. meaning there is a break in the wire. make sure you are connecting the proper connector to coil contact point. If you are, then the housing is bad. replace it.
where can i get that new coil cover at.... cause auto zone dont carry it so who would and where can i get a ign. control model tested
May be i was not clear on this if what you are doing does not work then do the website i quoted. Put in your vin number and follow it through and see if there a reflash for your computer. It helped with my problem a little. Didn't go away completely. I have changed everything you said including fuel pump, coil packs etc..
ONe you get the part number for the reflash take it to the dealer because they might not know what you are talking about.

i'm having the same problem, my car wont even start though

so today i went out and checked the white coil pack thing with an ohm meter, and i didnt get anything out of it. i also checked to see if i could get any spark out of the plugs by putting a plug into the coil pack then putting it on a piece of metal with the ignition on (i was very safe while doing it) and i didn't get anything out of that either.
so i'm pretty much sold on the fact that it is the coil pack on my car.
any input??
i just replaced my coil housing and used acdelco plugs and now my car runs like a champ....... change your fuel filter....
