got a 2000 2.2 cavi and the odometer is not working and i dont have a tach. i want to put a new cluster in with a tach and also will the odometer read my cars original miles or the new clusters miles. is it also possible to go from no tach to tach cluster with out major mods beside cluster swap.

Yep, the mileage should be stored in your cars BCM, so no worries there.
