My '03 Cav's backup lights work sometimes and sometimes not. I have the GM and Haynes manuals and they don't way anything about the darn thing. My backup lights work sometimes, but other times they do not. Is there an adjustment for the switch?
I'm thinking the thing is inside the tranny, or can it be replaced without taking the trans out? And, is there any adjustment for the switch?
The backup sensor is mounted on the side of the transmission, you can replace it without dropping the tranny.
It's on the driver's side, top of the case, straight down from where the brake master cylinder is.
I have to replace mine too.... hasn't worked in a while
ya dude i had no back up lights and ya well i had to safety my J' so i just switched the switch .. i wouldnt bother playin around with it. I would just replace it so you know thats not/ or is the problem. just make sure you clean the little hole were the old switch comes out. Because ya it may be dirty .. Good Luck and Enjoy
Sounds like a plan to me, that's next on my list of stuff to do. I didn't know if it was like
the old muncie or saginaw GM tranny's and needed adjustment every now and then.
Thanks guys.
Yep, happened to me too! Replace the switch and your good.
