Lift points on a 2004.....

Cavalier. Is it okay to just use the pinch rails, or is there someplace better to lift it up by?

That's where I lift mine at. I just make sure it is at the point where there are two pinch rails. You will see what I'm talking about when you get on your belly and look under the car.

[quote=ßãggéÐÇåv98 (Ûñqùðtäߣè Øñé)] the rear axle or the rad support

Those are also good if you want only one end of the veh up. When I do front brakes I use the Radiator support and the rear axle for back brakes.

I gave up on using the pinch welds. They always fold over and smush. I usually use one of the places underneath where the suspension bolts up to the body. It has been a while since I have had to jack up my Z so I can't remember exactly where it is.

I always use pinch welds...but i place something like a small piece of wood on the jack to avoid damage.

If it's that big square of metal that's part of the unibody, that's where I lift mine by too. Just behind the front wheel about 3/4 of a foot under the car from the side.

I lift the whole side of my car up from that spot at autox's for tire changes.

I can't stand when the pinc weld bends. It is not a load bearing point IMO.
