Timing Belt

Someone asked me this and i wasnt sure. So here goes. When, if ever does the timing belt on the Ecotec usually have to be changed. This guy's car has 54000 miles on it, and he's beginning to wonder.

The timeing belt never ever, ever, ever goes bad. Mostly because there is no timeing belt, It has a chain and guides. And those chains are good for many moons.

yep, timing belts are usualy only found on hondas, toyotas, etc
most american engines have chains. they sould be good for the life of the car, but belts are usualy replaced every 40-50 k miles.
