Hey guys, as we all know, planning has begun for the 2009 GM Tuner Bash. These last 2 years have had a pretty good amount of success, and we've learned things from the previous 2 bashes. This one looks to be by far our strongest yet!
This year we've got a couple more new things going on, and better prizes, including CASH! Show N Shine will return, as well as dyno pulls, and quick 8 run offs. New this year will be bracket racing. Kitty is expected to be 500+, if we get more cars in, the kitty gets bigger. I am anticipating 150 cars this time around, and if that is the case, we may change the itinerary as necessary, but right now, this is a pretty good idea of whats going on when. Other details will likely be thrown in later.

I've been to every bash since the 05 and I've never came in the same car twice.... who would have thought the Honda would be my first car to make it to multiple bashes LOL

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Looking foward to it again. This time we are bringing the dyno to the track. We will have a generator and fans with us so don't worry.

Edgewater was picked because a couple of very reliable critics, Ben Wenzel Jr. and Bill Hahn Jr., have run on the track and said the surface was great for racing. Plus it is again a central location that is easy for most of the community to get to.
As Paul noted Team Vision Racing will be sponsoring the bracket racing FOR SURE and we're looking into sponsoring the Quick 8 as well. This racing will hopefully be the best to date with a fat cash prize for both events, some kick ass trophies to display, and some great racing for everyone involved.
If your wondering about the quality of the racing we're looking at for 2009, here's a little preview for you on the Quick 8 field....
-Last years Tuner Bash was won by 3800 S/C in a Z24.
-This years Q8 eliminations is looking to have a bump spot (#16 position) of approximately 12.90 seconds AT WORST.
-I know of 4, yes FOUR, J-BODIES that are showing up and will, for sure, be running in the 11s already.
-Besides those 4, there are 3 others going for the 11s, myself included.
-I can list off 6 OTHER Js going for deep 12s (12.30 or lower) off the top of my head.
-I know of at least 3 12 second Cobalts that will be attending.
-I know of at least 2 12 second capable Solstices that should be there.
Let's do the math together shall we...
4 Js IN the 11s
+ 3 others aiming for 11s
+ 6 going for low 12s
+ 3 12 sec Cobalts
+ 2 12 second Solstices
+1 Raven (I hope)
=
19 cars already for a 16 car field. This WILL be the fastest field EVER at a bash.
I will have pictures of the "Bracket Shootout" trophies in the next couple of weeks (I ordered them early to make sure I had exactly what I wanted LOL) and pictures of the Quick 8 awards after that is all finalized in the next few months. I have got to do something spectacular for a field like the one we're about to see!
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

Hope the Harrison PD is cool with me
.
I like how it's a straight shot down for us almost.
I hope to have the police called on me again as I hold a tube with a mortar round in it between my legs
Lenko was priceless with the cops. He's probably the only reason no one got arrested LOL.
Anyone have that video by chance? I lost it when my laptop died!
