Well I know most of you dont know me as I pop on and off but i've had my J for about 2 years now and i think its time to move on. Most likely my brother will be getting it and he will continue the work it needs. So you could see him on here. Now as for what I am getting and yes I know I will no doubt get a ton of crap for it but soon I will be picking up an SRT-4 there are about 2 or 3 I'm looking at right now and will be making the purchase here soon. I still will come on here to look around and see whats up. If you all have same advice on the SRT or know someone who does help would be awsome as I'm gonna have to learn a whole new platform.

Excellent choice man and my best friend has an 11 second SRT4 in which I've done alot of work on his car to make it so.
I've put on his alchohol/ meth injection system, battery relocation, no lift shift setup, and most of his electronics on the car to make this car a beast.
So you're off to a good start and here's some pics of Kevins car that should get you to drool a bit more for an SRT.
Traction bars that kick a$$.
Side exit that blows fire between shifts.
Custom log intake manifold in which there's only 4 in the world.
Adjustable cam gears, Perrin fuel rail, and custom mounts ftw.
How about a video of the exhaust.
No Cavy will ever sound like this and believe me, I love Cavaliers, and the Jbodies but this sound is so sweet. I'm sure most will agree and the fact that I've had the pleasure to work on this car while having a ride in it that will make you throw away all your Viagra.

Unless you're pimping in a VIP whip, stick with the basics if you want to go fast.
Oh and you need to grease your window tracks to stop that darn squeaking window.

The newer ones have the LSD in the tranny which is something that you'll need to look for.

not thread jackin but i love the evo although i baby it most the time cuz i dont wanna buy a new clutch anytime soon, but the only issues i have with it are the motor mounts suck and with out a tune its hard to drive with the a/c on (for the wife cuz i dont need it). GTOs are nice but i've spanked the hell out of a modded one 3 weeks after i got the car running stock.
as for the srt-4 that was goin to be one of my other options if i couldnt find a good evo, but when ur looking get one that hasnt been moded at all or too much u will save your self lots of problems. good luck

Yeah most of the ones I'm looking at are 04 or 05 i've heard the 03's dont have LSD so im staying away from that. Also my goal is to find one that has been as lighly modded or not at all if possible. Also this actually may have to wait now as I'm going on deployment soon and I'm now thinking of waiting till I get back so I dont have to store it right after I buy it. But I dont have to worry the area I'm in seems to have plenty for sale and plenty around to get so it's not like I have to jump on this now.

GTO's aren't that great really.... I have a friend that actually calls them a Soooped up Grand Am! LOL If you are goign to spend that kind of money I know someone paying $450 a month for very used one go for the VR-4!
....mitsubishi gto = 3000gt vr4 4ws/cyclone manifolds/600cc injs, there were even a few convertibles/targas with these factory mods. most were sold in europe as spyders.
and a pontiac gto is more or less a 4 seat corvette, the 6.0 6speeds are quite nice actually.

the srt 4 is cheap power....but it's still fwd and can't go anywhere in the snow.

Yes I love it man. And yeah I will be over to that site soon. I swear if I dont get one here soon though I'm gonna go crazy I've taken 3 out on a test drive just trying to decide what one I like more. Omg these cars are amazing lol... But yeah by this weekend or next I will have the keys to one.
