Yup, just an overpriced base model.

Are the Z22's always 5 speed? I've only ever seen them in 5 speed but was curious if anyone owned or has seen an auto Z22
Maybee the dealers only put those stickers on the manuals?
Im sure theres autos out there.... I mean since there isnt any such thing as a Z22..... it would come down to what ever car some dumbass put the stickers on..... @!#$ there might even be a Z22 corvette out there somewhere LOL
The second gen z22 got more than just stickers. it also got a fake cowl hood. It looked the same as the z24 one but didnt do anything. It also got the fancy z24 seats. All the third gens got was a sticker, what a rip!

There was never an official Z22 so whatever you saw them with was whatever the dealer had and decided to slap a sticker on....never was an official car from GM...
I know, I was just stating that the dealers actually added stuff to the second gen car and not just a sticker like the 3rd gen got.
Yeah, it's just a selling point for a 2.2/2200 cavalier/sunfire. The z24 is the top model if you will and this makes the 2.2/2200 seem more appealing.
not sure if it's just a coincidence but the z22's that I've seen(my racecar for instance) have the built in sway-bar under the rear axle and a bigger front sway-bar like a z24...and the only z22's Ive seen are Canadian cars. and yes they came in auto as that's what my racecar is (4spd)
My old race car was a Z22 but it still had the 17mm sway bar up front and no rear bar, also a canadian car.
Thats interesting, I've never seen that rear axle in anything other than the sunfire GT's
my 99 that had the z22 stickers on it didn`t even have a front swaybar i had to put one on

I always thought that style rear axle only came in Z24 and Sunfire GT models but my 2005 base model has it and that was one of the first things I checked when I bought that 1996 Z22 to build into a racecar and it had one...until this weekend that is when it got turned into a pretzel and my back-up axle isnow the regular type....
all ecos i have seen, have the bar through the rear.03-05
Hell.... My Sunifre is an SE so no rear sway bar....... but it has the engine and tranny from a GT...
You would think that if someone was gunna order a car like that.... they would have got the total GT package with the SE body....
My cars basically a GT minus the rear bar and bumpers.... it really screws with some people that know these cars at all...
At least z22 cavy isnt as bad as all these 6 cylinder SSRS camaros I've seen.. (rs camaro with an SS badge on it... sometimes withought removes the rs badge and actually selling the car as a 6 cylinder SS wich it isnt) those make me want so backhand dealers...
Sorry for my typing lately.... Im quitting smoking and have no caffien either atm
So what is the difference between a base model and a "Rally Sport" cavalier?
