While driving around I noticed a black 99 z24 sitting with a barely noticable for sale sign on it. So I stopped to take a look. It was dark out at the time but I felt for the common rust areas. Under doors, bottom door line, lift points. No rust. No dents. Wasn't able to tell if it was stick or auto, which I'll find that out as well as mileage today, and get a good look at interior. But for the price I might buy it anyway regardless of if it's even running or not. $1300 isn't bad. What are common problems to look out for with the 2.4?
Wish me luck

If it runs, isten for rod bearing noise, cam chain noise, missing at idle, look for water pump leaks, freeze plug leaks, you know the usual. If it's not been beaten badly and has been maintained, it's possible to get high milage from these engines. If it's been constantly beaten, no oil changes, no coolant changes, then bad things can happen as with most any engine.

Auto with 112,000 miles. A few scratches here and there. Looks like the hood was rust fixed, but the underside was rust free =] So overall very good shape.
If it's still there in 2-3 weeks (think it's been there a while) I'll have my 3rd j
