Owned the care since it was new and still loved the care but after hitting 5 deer, hail damage and having 257,000 miles (that is not a typo yes two hundred fifty seven thousand) I came across a 03 LS sport coupe with 54,000 miles for a hair under 6 grand and couldnt pass it up...sadly on got 500 for the Z on trade but the only mechanical type stuff l I ever did to the Z was change oil, put gas in it...new alternator and fuel pump and wheel bearings. Gonna miss the 5 speed but the 03 LS is pretty nice and was a smoking deal for how mint the car is. I still think that Z24 can hit 300,000 miles which was my goal but the lingering doubt always scared me. At least I bought another J-body

holy hell, your 2001 had 200,000 miles more than my 2002 when i got sick of it. should have ran it out to 300k before getting rid of the car. what do you do that you get so many miles racked up?
GO PATS!!!
never tack it out badly keeping it under 4000 rpm, Use Mobil 1 synthetic fill at most ...every 3000 miles and run seafoam through the booster line every fall, thats about it nothing special just regular maint. Now that I bought the 03 I have read on other sites a lot of problems with the 03 ecotec hope its ignorant whiners....
