I recently bought a 1997 Cavalier RS, no mods or anything. It's in decent shape other than the rocker panel on the driver side.
This may be just because I'm used to driving V8's, but is 3300 RPM at 74 MPH normal? Or about 3100 at 68 MPH. (converting from kilometers/hour). Can anyone confirm those RPMs or does anyone know offhand if these are normal RPMs? The car runs fine, doesn't over heat or have any problems that I can tell.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure I have the 3 speed automatic trans.

sounds normal.
just the trusty ol 3speed transmission doing work.
dont know about the 3 speed.
my 4speed cruises 80@3000 rpm
and my 6spd cruises at 90 at 3000 rpm
and my 6 speed cruises at 40 at about 950-1000 RPM.

my 5 speed manual cruises at.... wait it doesn't cruise, its got bad habits of speeding up and slowing down (damn lead foot driver)...
