i have to much water in my tank and my cav wont run, how can you suck the water out through the line? i need to move the car and get it to a shop to do a new tank, i had enough. Please i need to know car is at the gym.
you can syphon it out, if thats what you mean. just put a hose down in there and put the other end down close to the road. suck the water up over the top until it starts going by itself. try not to get it in your mouth lol

you could put some gasline antifreeze in (methyl hydrate) that should absorb the water and let it go through the system. I don't know about all years but my 2000 sunfire has a check valve where the filler goes into the tank which makes it hard to ge a hose in to siphon the gas/water out.
what I would do... take a cheap inline fuel pump, attach 2 hoses to it, put one end down the filler neck and use the battery o jump the pump and let it empty... hell you can even pull the fuel line off the rail and paperclip the relay for the stock pump and let it empty itself... manual labor and hand pumps are over rated, easy is good
Or you could just do what I did (sorta like darkstars is talking about)
Just pull the inlet line off of your fuel filter under the tank.... put a bucket under it..... and jump the fuel pump relay with a paper clip.

So that you don't have to go under the car, I'd say disconnect the fuel line at the fuel rail and have the end into gas can. Turn key to ignition (don't start). Fuel pump will "cycle" and run only two seconds. Turn ignition to off (may need to leave off for a few seconds) then repeat until tank is empty. The tank will not literally be empty, the fuel (water in your case) will be too low for the fuel pump to get. There may be a half gallon or less left in there. Then fill with gas and the said anti-water stuff mentioned.
Or do the above with the fuel filter. Now would be a very good time to replace the fuel filter, as preventive maintenance, or maybe it is clogged with water...
After draining the tank, you could remove the back seat. In the floor, there is an access lid to go through the floor. Then you will see the tank opening. Remove that, the fuel pump is attached into it. The opening should be big enough to reach in with one hand. Sop up the remaining fuel/water with paper towels. Then there should be 100% no water in the fuel system. Now would be a convenient time to replace the pre-fuel-pump "sock" type filter.
You may need new seals or O-rings after breaking the old ones. Carefully inspect to make sure that every place you reconnect, seals up. Also use caution dealing with gasoline vapors. I should add that you should use a rubber glove when reaching into the tank or disconnecting fuel lines. I would want to have a way to wash my hands too, if needed.
How do you know there is water in the tank / are you sure???
you can try gasline water remover or HEET, HEET is in a yellow bottle with blue letters at any auto parts store. of course, i use it for meth injection
the awser i was looking for was paper clip to the relay, thanks guys i hope it works.
As for how do i know theres water in there, car wont run, happen before after i used ethanol, and car fires but runs like crap. 2 i pulled the line and turned the key on and off and fill a clear bottle and you could see the two parts. it was like a 1/4 mix. thanks guys i will try the paper clip.
which one do put the clip into? i tried tonight and blew the fuse for the fuel pump? i really need this to work my car is still stuck at the gym and probably get towed away soon.
