So WTF color is my '99? I have always thought it was Fern Green Metallic, but that is not listed as an option.
Looks like "Medium Green Metallic"... the fern green is lighter IIRC... CavaliersRus's old girlfriend (whose name I cannot remember for the life of me...!) had a Z24 in that colour, and it was lighter than your car looks.
I'm still so mad that they never released the Turbo Sport >.<

edit: proof that the cavaliers convertibles came with the vinyl options oh yeah, im gonna have fun looking at all of this stuff!
Interesting - I continually track Sunfire and Cavalier 'vert sales on eBay and have yet to see a Cav one with the white vinyl, so those must be very rare.
The Sunfire convertibles actually came with
two vinyl seating options - the artic white one and also a tan version.
Interestingly, you could order the white vinyl seating with any body color but the tan vinyl was only available in models with certain exterior body colors (if I recall properly, gold, green, black or purple). So you'll never see a red, blue, silver or white sunfire 'vert with the tan vinyl (unless someone swapped it in, which is
highly unlikely since the tan upholstery wasn't ordered very often and is consequently beyond rare in the salvage market). The few times I've seen it in eBay Sunfire verts it's always been in a black car.
ive seen pictures of a red sunfire with the tan vinyl option. and maybe a black fire too. but those are the only two times ive seen the tan option at all. and since the red sunfire was stock, i doubt anyone did a swap on the interior.
actually, lenko was the one that posted the pics of the red vert with tan interior. maybe he could find the pics again, as
this post seems to have dead links.

Actually, I had my wires crossed and stand corrected. I checked my 1998 Sunfire brochure again tonight. The taupe ("tan") vinyl option then was actually available in any Sunfire model, not just convertibles. It was the arctic white vinyl option that was only available in convertibles, with certain exterior colors (in 98 you could get an arctic white vinyl interior if you exterior paint was white, medium blue green metallic -- a.k.a manta green metallic clearcoat -- black, bright aqua metallic or red). That's explains why I've never seen medium blue, gold, purple or orange red metallic Sunfire verts with white vinyl interiors.
I agree the taupe vinyl was very rarely ordered, likely because the taupe a.ka. tan interior trim theme in general wasn't wildly popular, as shown by the endless references on J-body about "the dreaded tan interior." Again, from my eBay tracking, I've never seen taupe vinyl in a sedan or coupe, only in a few Sunfire verts. Or put differently, the overwhelming majority of Sunfire verts that come on the market with a vinyl interior have the white version. Unfortunately, that color doesn't wear well unless carefully cared for, so most of the ones I've seen have that (ahem) "well used" look.
i did not realize that the tan vinyl option was available in coupes or sedans. very interesting indeed. i actually wouldnt mind a set for the drop top, as it has a tan/charcoal interior ATM and i think the tan vinyl would go well with the manta green exterior.
"The Cavalier glove box has a whopping 4.9 liters of usable space. That means it can hold a lot more than gloves. How about a 6 pack of soda? Don’t believe us? Try it.....”
that is wicked cool...

I really need to dig through my glove box to see if my invoice thingy majig is hiding in there so I can figure it out for sure. I know there was a lighter Fern Green that was awful in 02 or 03, but still "thought" mine was as well....oh well. I've had Fern Green stuck in my head well before I ever found this site.
