Does anyone know what the rust warranty is for the 01 Cavalier? My car is starting to blister at the fuel door. Build is 4/01 and it has 89,000 on the odometer.

5 year 100,000 mile warrenty i beleve. they wouldn't take care of my passenger door when it started to blister. i am just going to save and get it repainted. mines an 02 with 86,000 at the time. it is more along the lines of rust holes not blister i think.

that is correct, they will not cover blistering, it has to be through the surface of the paint
I'm out of the time limit so it's not worth the hassle. thanks though I appreciate it.

Hmmm..that seems to be an issue with those years...I"ve seen quite a few with rust there or right behind the door..
i have a 99 and it looks like theres a colony of rust on the bottom of my doors!! luckily it hasnt come through to the "viewable" part of the door...... it sucks, but im just driving this till the engine dies and i can get another car.....so whatever!

Don't feel bad.. My 02 had to have the rocker panels replaced and the bottom of the doors sanded and repainted in 2004.. 2 years old and it was falling apart badly.. lol.

when i bought my car, there was a nice bit of rust, but i fixed most of it. Along the bottom of the doors, and under the gas lid was the major problem areas. I fixed the rust as best i could, butting in peices where needed. I sprayed over the bottom of the doors, and all up around the back on the bottom with rocker guard. Yeah. Thats right. Rocker guard, and lots of it. Then, i put on the sunfire gt ground effects and covered it alll up. cant see it, and i should be good from rusting, even if it does rust, you cant see it. so i dont care.
Well went to the body shop, gonna get fixed soon. It's gonna cost me a whole $350 to repair the area paint and clear the quater panel.
