right now i have a 1999 Cavalier which i got for cheap and my friend has a sunfire lying around same year he said he would sell me cheap if i wanna sell mine cause i would make money off it anyways,,
personnally dont like how the sunfire looks but which is better, performance? reliability? they are both automatic, sigh, i have seen listings about the different engines available for each year and thier specs but i dont know how to tell which mine is?
Physically and mechanically, they are the same.
the only difference is cosmetic.
i have noticed that alot of the body panels look very similar betwen the two
are the trunks the same, the idea would be to switch cav trunk lid onto the sunfire

As far as direct swap over, doors are the same (coupe to coupe / sedan to sedan); Cavalier trunk lid (either coupe or sedan) swaps over to Sunfire sedans only.
Cavalier rear bumper (coupe or sedan) swaps to Sunfire sedan only.
all the body panels from the doors forward (fenders, hood, bumpers) can swap over as one piece, however Cav and Fire fenders are different in shape where they meet up with the bumper.
four door cav and four door sunfire so the trunk lid will swap direct over i would not have to change anything?
May have to splice in the reverse lights on the cav tails (which by the way, cav tails fit on Sunfire sedans), which is part of the cosmetic differences, but other than that, shouldn't have to change over anything (if the fire has power trunk release, you'd have to change over the trunk latch...)
ok well that works, i got a parts cav lying around thats same color as the sunfire so i can make that swap then ill like the sunfire alot better lol thanks
so i went and looked it looks like it will work
but the sunfire tail lights are different looking so i would want to put in the cavalier ones
i can figure out the wiring but will the actual lail light fit in the same spot?
