Good deal or bad deal?

I was dropping my girlfriend off at work when I spotted a Silver 2000 Cavalier. I stopped real quick to check it out because I have been looking for another car to drive around so I can park the Z. It has the 2200 under the hood, all charcole interior, power moonroof, manual windows, manual locks, and is a 4spd auto. The body is in perfect shape, the interior spite being dirty was in real good shape. So I test drove it, started up fine, reves up no problem, everything is stock on it, as the CD player in it. But it has the steel rims with hubcaps on it. The car taking off is real loud, louder than my new exhaust on my Z. So I'm guessing it will need a new exhaust. But for the 2200 is picks up decent, no problems driving it at all. Heat and AC works, it does not smoke, but when I looked under the hood it is leaking a tiny bit of oil around the cover. But that is easily fixed with a new gasket. Ok now the problems I noticed, the odometer reads error so I don't know how many miles are on the car. The dealer said 114,000+ miles on it. He dose not know what is wrong with it and can't figure it out. The Airbag light is on so kind of makes me wonder what has happened to it in the past. But the airbags did not deploy. Those are the only things I could find wrong with it with a quick check. He is only wanting $2650 for the car as it is. My only problem is I doubt I can get a car loan, I don't have the best of credit. But he told me if I can come up with $2400 he will allow me to do $200 payments until it is paid off. Dealer also told me that he drove the car from St. Louis to Nevada with no problems at all, and that is a 500 mile trip. I decided to drive it to my house to hook up my scanner to it and maybe see if anything comes up on the error. I plugged in my reader and it did not come on. So I figured my scanner went out. I took it back, and when I came back home I was curious and decided to hook my scanner up to my Z to see if it came on. It did, so that does not sound to good to me. So my guess maybe ECM problems? Could this be related to the error on the odometer? Any ideas on the car? Good deal or bad deal? Tell me what you all think.

I'd have em' run a carfax-if it comes out good, then it could just be a computer problem..

ECM problems maybe, but it sounds like the car was in a crash and the harness is shot. Kelly Blue Book retail the car at $5065. That should try a red flag alone.

I'd never buy a car that has a messed up odometer reading...

Not really, KBB is weird I sold my 2000 Vert Z24 with 72K for 5,000$. I could not sell it for the life of me at 5800 and took 5,000. The car was bone stock in mint condition.

I wouldnt mess with a messed up odometer, take it to a decent shop they should figure it out.
