Alright, here's what's up. I work at an aerospace machining lab at a rural airport and we specialize in making parts for the (you guessed it) aerospace industry. We make precision parts from strict guidelined parts. I'm talking all of our parts are usually required to be with about a thousandth of an inch, and some even within two ten thousandths (.005" and .0002" respectively). This is a precision we'd potentially like to bring into the automotive world as well, and as we're just starting out, we'd like to try some simpler accessories to see how people respond.
My dad (who is the GM) and I were throwing around the idea a little and while I was looking over the cars at the local Pontiac dealership where my car was getting worked on I had an epiphone. Actually two. The first was to come online to all my j-body groups and write this post. The second was thinking of products we could make, and I was thinking of starting small, with things like billet HVAC controls, and dust caps, etc...We were in all sorts of aerospace grade metals, including T6 Aluminum and Stainless Steel to Lead Alloys, etc...
My question to you is, what items would you like to see being made? What would you be interested in purchasing for your car? My family is a Pontiac Family, we have my Sunfire, my dad's Grand Am, my mom's Grand Prix GTP and our old GTO, so we'd like to start in a marketplace that we're familiar with, so GM Vehicles, specifically J-Bodies are where it's at. Let me know what you think, please! Thank you very much!!

what other materials do you have access to rather than T6 Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Lead Alloys?
are you only cutting, and if so with what?
can you do any molding/forming?
ive got a ton of ideas and wondering exactly what you have to offer.
good luck with everything buddy!!! its great to see others wanting to help!

We have access to any kind of material you could think of! We actually don't use T6 Aluminum much because it's not a very high quality aluminum. In fact, we've been known to make things out of ballistic aluminum lol. We only cut, however we can cut just about any intricate thing you ask us to. We have an entire screw machine department (12 screw machines to be exact), as well as a full compliment of Hand Chuckers, Automatic, hand chuckers, lathes, indexes and we have 4 CNCs. Two of our CNCs are Mills and Two of them are Lathes. I've thrown this post around to all the J-Body groups that I moderate or am apart of on MySpace, and beides my own HVAC Knobs and valve stem caps, I was given a cool idea about Billet AC Vent Rings. Dress up items I think are going to be the easiest to manufacture, but theoretically we can do anything!
