Just waht you said never happened. I truly hated it when they brought it out. Now the orange Sunfire with the LD9charged and adjustable rear wing they made was just fing HOT!!
FU Tuning
? not sure what you just said, but they did bring it out. and it was crazy looking. . people hated the mirrors. but I thought it was a work of art.

What the hell charger is that? The Prototype m45 for the 2.4?
i like the roadster, granted the mirrors could be a lil more conventional
personally i'd love to have one of those, its looks awesome (minus the mirros of course)
although I'll take one in black please
Yeah other than the mirrors it was a really cool looking fire.
How many steps to heaven, Doc?
...Ah, metaphysics.

dibs on the car. you can have the motor and the charger.
First, that car, did not go to the crusher. It is in a secret GM warehouse where they have countless concept cars. Jon Moss at the time was director of this section.
And I see nobody here gave no type of info here.
This Concept model came out in 1990. It was the very first Sunfire nameplate on a car for Pontiac. It had a 2.0L DOHC
with Turbo which made 190 HP according to GM. It had a 5-speed Getrag tranny, Carbon Fiber panes, long 109in wheelbase
4 wheel independent suspension and all sorts of features that concept cars have.
Since GM had more money to spend, GM decided to evolve the Sunfire Concept to a less radical style. So eventually this...
Becomes this.
This model came out in 1994. By now we saw a glimpse at was going to replace the Sunbird. It had a S/C 2400 DOHC with Ram Air,
4 wheel disc brakes, "modular front with tubular rear suspension," the wheelbase was shrunk to 104.1in which as you notice, it is the
same as today's Sunfire.
So like typical GM concept-to reality cars, this car...
Became this. Yep,and like typical GM concept to reality, it was watered down too.
But of course it is road, crash worthy now and yes, buildable.
As you can see GM decided to retain a lot of the original's styling, albeit less radical.
So that was a quick & brief history of the Sunfire and it's concept.

meh...mirrors are ok. anyone have more pics? esp interior? im surprised no one on the .org has modelled a drop top after that concept. ive thought about it, but dont have the $$ for it.

Give it a V-8 and make it RWD, and I would absolutely love it.. it looks like it's begging for more power.

That'd be the problem. No time, money, and I need the car (DD).

mmmm that surrrrre does look like an M62 on a 2.4.....lets raid that warehouse!
I like the exhaust exits. The tail lights look much better on the concept, and those deep dish rims are wiked. I think the concepts looks really great. Probably just ahead of their time.
lenko or goodwrench: got any more pics of the speedster? i seem to remember seeing a pic of it with an M shaped roll bar over the tonneau cover. i thought i had saved it, but cant find it anywhere.
